H.E.S. HAPPENINGS
Parent/Family Edition
JANUARY 2024
Greetings, Hopkins Elementary Families,
Welcome to the second half of the school year! We hope you had a restful and enjoyable break and are ready for the exciting months ahead. We are grateful for your ongoing support and involvement in your child's education. Your partnership with us is invaluable, and we are committed to working together to ensure your child's success.
As we embark on this new phase of the school year, we encourage you to stay actively engaged in your child's academic journey. One of the best ways to do this is by maintaining open communication with your child's teachers. Please don't hesitate to reach out to them with any questions or concerns you may have.
In addition to regular communication from teachers, your child's teacher will continue sending out a weekly newsletter that will provide you with insights into what your child is learning in the classroom. This will help you stay informed and engaged in their educational experience.
We would also like to encourage you to talk with your child about their school day. We recommend using the D.L.I.Q. Framework: each night, ask your child what they Did, Learned, found Interesting, and what Questions they still have about what they learned that day. This simple routine can foster meaningful discussions and deepen your child's understanding of their daily learning experiences at school.
In this newsletter's "Activities To Go" section, we have offered a challenge to parents. We will draw three names at the end of the month from all the challenge entries. The prizes range from cash to cleaning supplies.
Thank you for your continued support, and here's to a successful second half of the school year!
Sincerely,
Warm regards,
Audrey White-Garner, M Ed.
Principal
