Lost and Found Items
Please stop by the Lost and Found (down the main hallway, across from the ramp) to see if your child is missing any jackets, water bottles, lunch boxes, etc. We have a surplus of items collecting in Lost and Found area. All unclaimed items will be donated at the end of the school year.
Dr. Winn Murnin Scholarship
The Dr. Winn Murnin Scholarship was established to assist a graduating senior who is planning a career in teaching.
In order to receive a Dr. Winn Murnin Scholarship, a student must file their application according to the procedures outlined in the application packet. Applications are available from the Northside Education Foundation website under scholarships and the Murnin Elementary website. The completed application is due by May 15, 2024. One winner will be selected from the completed application packets and notified of the award. The scholarship winner will be formally announced and given their certificate prior to graduation.
Criteria for receiving the Dr. Winn Murnin Scholarship are listed below.
The recipient must:
- Have attended Dr. Winn Murnin Elementary for a time equal to one semester
- Be a 2023-2024 high school graduating senior
- Plan on attending college to prepare for a career in teaching
- Have a complete application packet
The monetary value of the scholarship is $1500. Checks will be mailed directly to the college or university that the student will attend in the current academic year. Information will come directly from the Northside Education Foundation (NEF) office on how to receive the monies for the Dr. Winn Murnin Scholarship.

The Olivia M. Lopez-Ramirez Memorial Scholarship
The Olivia M. Lopez-Ramirez Memorial Scholarship was established to assist a graduation senior who is planning a career in teaching.
In order to receive a Olivia M. Lopez-Ramirez Memorial Scholarship, a student must file their application according to the procedures outlined in the application packet. Applications are available from the Northside Education Foundation website under Scholarships. The completed application is due by 15TH OF MAY EVERY YEAR.
One Winner will be selected from the completed application packets and notified of the award. The scholarship winner will be formally announced and given their certificate prior to graduation.
Criteria for receiving the Olivia M. Lopez-Ramirez Memorial Scholarship are listed below.

Food Pantry
Murnin Elementary is happy to announce the opening of our school food pantry. We welcome anyone in the community who is in need of food assistance. Photo ID (Is Required) to enter the school grounds. If you have any questions please contact our family liaison Juan Velasquez for more information.
Operation Times: Monday - Friday 10:00 AM-1:00 PM (only open during school academic calendar)
Who Can Receive Food: Open to anyone in the community (must be 18 years and older)
Information Needed: Photo ID required to enter school (district policy requires ID to enter school)
I Don't Have ID: I will coordinate with family to bag food and bring outside
Do I Need To Make Appointment: No you can show up at times of operation
Paperwork Needed: Will be completed at the time families pick up food
Type Of Food Offered: We received food from the San Antonio Food Bank and they provide whatever is available in the warehouse at that time
Do You Offer Personal Hygiene: Very limited unless San Antonio Food Bank makes available
Do You Offer Refrigerated Items: No only non perishable food (working on getting industrial refrigerators)
