Urbanization Meaning
Urbanization is a word for becoming more like a city. When populations of people grow, the population of a place may spill over from city to nearby areas. This is called urbanization. Maybe tall apartment buildings spring up on what had been the outskirts of town, bringing more people there to live and work.
Benefits and Opportunities of Urbanization
There is a rapid migration of rural people to urban areas for jobs and better living. As a result the population in the towns and cities are increasing and rural population is dwindling. The rapid in rush of people to the urban areas is pressuring its limited space and cause all type of health and environmental hazards.
Problems with Urbanization
- Some problems with housing in urbanization could are over crowding and sanitation problems.
- Some problems with transportation in urbanization are the railroads that were provided did not meet the demand of expanding populations. The cities struggled to repair old transit systems and to build new ones.
- Some problems with water in urbanization are cities faced the problem of supplying safe drinking water.
- Some examples with sanitation crime are horse poop pilled up in the streets, sewage flowed through open gutters, and factories spewed foul smoke into the air.
- Some problems with fire in urbanization is water because of the limited supply of it it was hard to put out fires.
My Opinion
I think some of these problems are still present today but they are just not as bad as it sounds like they were back then.
