Liberty Park Elementary School Newsletter
Friday, July 31st - Back to School!
Dear Liberty Park Families,
I am very excited to welcome everyone to the 2020-2021 school year and provide you with some important information. School begins on Thursday, August 6, and we are excited to begin a new year with our students!
Students Attending School IN PERSON:
- For our families with students starting the year in person we will be hosting a Back to School Night for our students and families next Tuesday, August 4 from 5:30pm - 7:00pm.
- Grades 1 - 4 will hold Back to School Night virtually. We will host two sessions to meet the scheduling needs of families. The first session will be from 5:30pm - 6:00pm and the second session will be from 6:15pm - 6:45pm.
- We are offering an in-person Back to School Night for our Kindergarten students only on August 4 as well. We are asking that kindergarten students are accompanied by one parent for the event to assist us with minimizing the number of people in our classrooms so that we can meet our social distancing guidelines. Parents and students are required to wear a mask to our Back to School Night event. Students whose last names begin with the letters A - M are scheduled to come from 5:30pm - 6:00pm. Students whose last names begin with the letters N-Z are scheduled to come from 6:15pm - 6:45pm. Parents will not be allowed to accompany students into the school building on the first day of school so this will provide your kindergarten student an opportunity to meet his or her teacher and locate his or her classroom before their first day.
- Your child’s teacher will be contacting you on Monday, August 3 to introduce themselves and provide more information about Back to School Night.
Students Attending School VIRTUALLY:
- The following information is for our families with students that are registered for the virtual learning path for the 2020-2021 school year. School begins on Thursday, August 6.
- There will be a device and textbook pickup in order to get needed materials to our virtual students on Tuesday, August 4 from 5:30pm - 7:00pm at LP. Kindergarten students will receive a school issued ipad. 4th grade students should return their Chromebooks and chargers so that they can receive a school issued iPad. All other students should use the device that was issued last spring. If you did not receive a device, a device will be issued to you on Tuesday evening. As a reminder, this is a drive-thru pick-up. Please remain in your car. Staff will come to your car to retrieve needed information and will bring materials to you. Please remember if your child will be a 4th grader, they will need to return their chromebook and charger and will receive an ipad. I know the first day of school is coming quickly and you are eager to learn more about your student's teachers and classes.
- Your student's virtual teacher will contact you by Wednesday, August 5th to share information.
As always, I thank you for your continued support of Liberty Park Elementary! Take care, be safe, and have a great weekend!
Your Principal,
Jason Brooks

SCHOOL DISTRICT PUBLICATIONS/NEWS MEDIA USE
The occasion may arise when the school district wants to recognize your child or your child's school. This may include your child's photo, your child's name or your child's work in district publications, newsletters, on school district websites, and in electronic/social media or in staff training videos. We may also want to tell the media (including newspapers, television, and radio) about your child's achievements. We never knowingly release information about a student to anyone who wants to use it for commercial/political purposes. However, we will honor your request to not include your child in these types of recognitions if you notify your child's school office in writing that you do not want this type of information released.
