VPE Family Newsletter
April 2024
VPE Parents/Guardians,
I can't believe we are already in APRIL! We are on the final countdown to the end of they year! The next 2 months will be full of activities. Refer back to this newsletter often so that you don't miss anything!
April is STAAR testing month for 3rd grade. Our students have been working so hard to LEVEL UP during these final few weeks. I am so proud of them for their endurance and growth. They have learned they CAN do hard things! I can't wait for them to "show what they know!" Please be mindful of April 16th and April 30th. We will be closed for lunch visitors due to testing.
On Monday, April 8 there will be a total solar eclipse in our area. Monday will be a regular school day for Lindale ISD and we will be taking students outside to view the eclipse on Monday afternoon, weather permitting. The Lindale ISD Education Foundation has graciously donated glasses for all of our students so they will safely be able to view the eclipse while at school. We are excited to facilitate this learning experience for our students.
Due to the influx of people expected to be in Lindale on Monday, we are anticipating traffic delays around dismissal time. If your child rides the bus, it is possible that they will be getting home later than usual. If your child is a car rider, please be aware of the traffic issues expected in town and the possibility of delays.
THANK YOU, PTP!
Special thanks to our PTP for our March Madness snacks and for making our staff appreciation week extra special. Thank you for the Sonic drinks, prizes, and charcuterie snacks! You always know how to make us feel so appreciated!

Discipline Policy
Student Expectations & Discipline
We go over 3 daily expectations every morning: 1) Be Respectful 2) Be Responsible 3) Be Ready for Success. Students are reminded frequently of our expectations for their behavior and the importance of ensuring their learning environment is protected from disruptions.
We believe in helping and guiding our students to become the best they can be! Many times in life, this comes through hard lessons and consequences when mistakes are made. The "mark" system is used at VPE to serve as visual warnings to allow students the opportunity to correct their behavior. Should students not correct their behavior and receive 3 marks, you will be notified of the detention. Parental partnerships are crucial as we help our students learn and grow. It is a privilege to come alongside parents as we shape the next generation of leaders! We do not expect perfection but we do expect students to take ownership of their mistakes and learn from them.
In regards to rewards, students can earn Eagle Bucks for being caught following our rules, showing great effort in school work, being a leader, and more! Students can trade in Eagle Bucks for different experiences at VPE!
We sent our discipline policy home at the beginning of the year, but it is linked below if you need a reminder.
