by Patton Baker
I began my trip in Kingston, Jamaica.
Kingston, Jamaica
Kingston is located at 17.9 N, 76.8 W. This is in the Southeast part of the country. While I was here i saw the Blue Mountains and Kingston Harbor. I also saw the Bob Marley Museum and the Devon House Mansion. I learned that they speak English and the people are mostly Christian. Also, Cricket is a popular sport and they gained independence in 1962. Many people travel by car and boat. They modified the environment with the Cast Iron Bridge and they accommodated for the environments by using the Harbor as a cruise port.
I then swam about 500 miles across the Caribbean to the Colombian shores, and then walked about 500 miles South to reach Bogota, Colombia.
Bogota, Colombia
Bogota is located 4.6 N, 74.1 W. This is right in the center of Colombia. While I was here I saw the Tequendama Falls and the Bogota River. I also visited the Catedral Primada and La Candelaria. I learned that they speak Spanish and they are mostly Roman Catholic. Also a popular sport there is Soccer and they gained their independence in 1810. Many people travel on the road. Ideas are communicated with broadband connection. They modified their environment with the Bamboo Bridge and they adapted to their land with the use of mountain lakes as a water source.
Then I walked 1167 miles South to Lima, Peru.
Lima, Peru
Lima is located at 12.0 S, 77.0 W. This is on the West Coast of the country. While i was there I saw the Rimac river and the Pacific Ocean. I also visited the Nazca Lines and Pizarro's Cathedral. I learned that the people there speak Spanish and they are mostly Roman Catholic. A popular sport there is soccer and they gained their independence in 1821. A common means of transportation is by bus and ideas are spread through satellite and cable TV. One example of their modification of the environment is Puente de Piedra and and example of accommodation to the environment is the way they utilize the seaway as a cruise port.
Then, finally I walked 2,201 miles to the East to reach Brasilia, Brazil.
Brasilia, Brazil
Brasilia is located at15.8 S, 47.9 W. This North West of Rie de Janeiro. While I was there I saw Lake Paranoa and Poco Azul. I also visited Cathedral of Brasilia and the Three Powers Square. I learned that the people speak Portuguese and and they are mostly Christian. A popular sport there is soccer and they declared their independence in 1822. A common way of travel throughout the country is by airlines. Their ideas are heavily focused on scientific knowledge. One way that they modify their environment is the Juscelino Kubitschek Bridge and one way that they adapt to their environment is with air conditioning.
