The homecoming game is tonight! Hope to see everyone at the tailgate. Free dinner from 5-7.
Wood County Health Partners Quality of Life Survey - Please complete a brief Quality of Life survey as part of creating a new Community Health Improvement Plan. You can access the survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/WoodCHIP2018. It should only take 2-3 minutes to complete.
Otsego App Reminder - We have discontinued the use of our app. Our website redesign that we completed a few years ago is mobile and tablet friendly, making the app not as valuable. We also did not have a lot of downloads and financially it was not worth the investment. Please bookmark our website www.otsegoknights.orgto your smartphone or tablet and I believe you will find that it has an app feel to it.
GO KNIGHTS!

COMMUNITY EVENTS SECTION
Harvest Moon Gala
The Grand Rapids Arts Council is excited to announce its upcoming Harvest Moon Gala to be held on Sunday, October 28, 2018, from 5:00 – 8:30 pm at Nazareth Hall. This annual fundraising event includes a delicious fall dinner prepared by the Nazareth Hall chef and served by staff, a silent auction, door prizes, and entertainment by Dueling Pianos.
The silent auction will feature original art by local artists and items and services donated by businesses and supporters of the arts. Door prizes are generous gift certificates from local restaurants. Presentation of the Grand Rapids Volunteer of the Year will also be held during the evening.
Combine sharp-witted and incredibly talented Dueling Pianos International musicians with pianos on stage and add in a room full of people. The result is: an evening of fast, funny, and unforgettable entertainment. The pianists sing and play everything from Jimmy Buffet, Garth Brooks, Billy Joel, Tom Petty, Elvis to Maroon 5, Metallica, Bruno Mars, Madonna and just about anything else. But most important, the show is all about the audience. It’s a clap-a-long, sing-a-long, crazy fiesta and hi-octane comedy.
Cost is $25 per person. You can reserve seats or a table of eight by calling 419-832-5664 or email grac@grandrapidsartscouncil.org.

Dear Prospective Platinum Filament 5K Costume Runners and Walkers,
Special Olympics and the Oak Leaf Productions LLC are partnering to present the Platinum Filament 5K Costume Run on Sunday October 21, 2018 at 9:00am in the Whitehouse Village Park. Dave's Running Shop is assisting the race. The main objective of the Platinum Filament 5k Costume Run is to create a family friendly event to raise awareness for developmental disabilities through the recognition of direct support professionals. Without caring mentors who inspire a transformational experience, the growth and learning for individuals with developmental disabilities are difficult to achieve in this unique culture.
The name of this race is inspired by Mike, a participant with autism who passed away. He found motivation in his life through his enjoyment of light bulbs. The words, light bulb, were among the few words in his vocabulary. When Mike was a young adult he assisted our maintenance man on the grounds. Mike would wear a utility belt and change light bulbs when they burned out. The platinum filament is the tungsten wire inside of a light bulb, through which an electric current is passed. Mike’s disabilities are gone now, and his light will always shine in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.
Please help us promote the Platinum Filament 5k Costume Run through word of mouth. This is a building year for the Oak Leaf Productions LLC to grow the event over the next 5 years. Oak Leaf Productions LLC is in the business of celebrating people and building relationships to cultivate the 5K into an annual day of music and shopping in the Whitehouse Village Park.
Interested runners or walkers can sign up electronically for the Platinum Filament 5K Costume Run at www.runsignup.com
