Cumberland, North Smithfield & Lincoln Prevention Coalitions
June, 2017
The 2016-17 school year is officially "A Wrap"! This year has gone by so quickly and we would like to sincerely thank everyone, from parents, students, community leaders, teacher and Administration for partnering with us to stay true to our mission! We are so very proud of the amazing things our Coalition has accomplished this year...Hidden in Plain Sight, our incredible ATI Crews and above all, working with our community to promote a safe and healthy drug free environment! We hope everyone has a safe, healthy and happy SUMMER 2017!! See you in the fall!
"The two most joyous times of the year are Christmas morning and the end of school!"
-Alice Cooper
ATI Crew in the Lincoln Memorial Day Parade
Despite the dreary weather, our Lincoln ATI Crew were chock full of smiles as they spread awareness to living "Above the Influence" during the annual Lincoln Memorial Day Parade on May 29th, 2017. Spectators were treated to "ATI" stress balls as the "Crew" walked the parade route!
An evening with Ray Lozano
The Blackstone Valley Prevention Coalition partnered with The Elks on Tuesday, May 30th for an informative AND entertaining evening with Prevention Specialist, Ray Lozano. Thank you to the Cumberland/Lincoln Boys and Girls Club for providing the venue for this event and to the many that participated in the event! It was a huge success!
Since 1986, Ray Lozano has educated & entertained thousands of students in hundreds of middle schools & high schools from Alaska to Florida, & internationally in the Cayman Islands and Bermuda. Ray has a talent and gift for conveying what could be construed as boring drug & alcohol prevention information in such a fun and humorous way that his audiences come away informed and entertained. The best analogy would be giving your kids medicine in a spoon-full of sugar. There’s a good reason that Ray’s audiences feel like they just came back from the Improv rather than from a “lecture.” Ray has performed stand-up comedy at the Improv in Hollywood and Ontario, CA. It is his background in comedy that keeps his audiences coming back time and time again. The fact that he has been asked to return to many of the same schools across the nation, some for as long as 15 years, speaks to Ray’s ability to keep his information updated, fresh & relevant
