Message from Mr. Hernandez
North Lake Family,
We are about 12 school days away from our first round of STAAR testing for English I and English II the week of April 8th! Our teachers and students have been hard at work this entire semester preparing for this time to shine. What I admired about our approach to STAAR was following the curriculum and emphasizing good first instruction. Our teachers have worked hard with students during the week, after school, and on weekends. Their hard work will pay off and after they pass this round of testing, they are one step closer to the end of the semester.
This week we also had a Senior event at Pinstacks in Las Colinas, that kicked off the final push for our Seniors at North Lake ECHS. Students, Senior Sponsors, and our Admin Team had a blast bowling and playing the different games the venue had to offer. I was able to see the smiles, students relaxing, and fellowship with their cohort.
One final note this week, please take time to complete the Dallas ISD parent survey if you have not done so. It helps with our vision and mission for the district; as well as North Lake ECHS. I have included the links below at the end of my letter, please take some time today to complete it. Thank you and have a great week!
Sincerely,
Adrian Hernandez
Principal
North Lake Early College High School
Atentamente,
Adrian Hernandez

Teens and Romantic Relationships
Parents play a large role in helping teens understand what a healthy relationship looks like. People who have healthy relationships are more likely to have greater life satisfaction and less likely to have physical and mental health problems. Take some time to read the tips below on how to talk to your teenagers about relationships. The article below, from Child Mind Institute, discusses how to share your values on romantic intimacy and healthy relations.
