WELCOME to the 2018-2019 School Year!
I hope that each of you had a great summer with your families! I also hope that you took some time to relax and get ready for the wonderful school year ahead! I am glad that you are a Mount Holly Mustang as you bring unique gifts to our school to help serve our students. Thank you in advance for your hard work and dedication. I am excited about the upcoming school year! I know that we will have a great year because of you! Below you will find the schedule for our first days back. I look forward to seeing each of you on August 9/10. Enjoy your last few days!!!
Monday, August 6 - Wednesday, August 8-
Please pick up classroom rosters and school shirts between 7 am and 4 pm. You will need your school shirt for the Back to School rally. Please wear your school shirt with black bottoms (pants, skirt, capris) on Friday, August 10.
Thursday, August 9-All certified staff report to South Pointe for PLC Conference

Friday, August 10-All Instructional Assistants report to South Pointe for the Back to School Rally by 1:45 (This will be your 1/2 day of work).
We will meet in the South Pointe gymnasium for the Back to School Rally. Everyone should be seated in the section reserved for Mount Holly by 1:45 pm. The rally will dismiss at 3:30.
Saturday, August 11 & Sunday, August 12-
The school will be open from 9 am to 5 pm if anyone would like to work in their room.
Monday, August 13-
We will have a faculty/staff meeting at 8:00 in the media center. We will meet in the atrium and then move to the media center. Breakfast will be served. Our meeting should end by 10:30.
You may have lunch on your own (until 1:00 pm) and work in your classrooms until 3:30 pm.
Tuesday, August 14-
This will be the day we have our Back to School Meet and Greet from 5:00 – 7:00 pm.
We will have our Meet and Greet/Dinner beginning at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, August 14. Outbreak Church will serve dinner for us in the cafeteria. There will be three sessions for parents to stop by your classrooms to learn about what is taking place and receive packets of information for the new school year. The first session is 5:00 – 5:30 pm, the second session is 5:35 – 6:05 pm, and the third session is 6:10 – 6:40 pm. Parents will stop by the cafeteria before or after their classroom visit for dinner and music.
On this day, you may work any seven hours as long as they include 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. In other words, you may work 12:00 – 7:00 pm or you may want to work in the morning, for example, from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm and return to work from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. Your schedule is flexible with the exception of 5:00 – 7:00 pm.
Wednesday, August 15-
Use this time to work in your rooms and meet/plan with your grade level teams.
You may have lunch on your own (until 1:00 pm) and work in your classrooms until 3:30 pm.
PBIS Team meeting at 2:00 pm.
Thursday, August 16-Instructional Assistants will work 1/2 day until 11:00 (Reunification Drill)
We will have a district-wide Reunification Drill on Thursday, August 16. During this event, we will be conducting Reunification for Old Pointe Elementary during the morning drill (7:30-11:00). All personnel will play the roles of students or parents for these schools, as assigned. Elementary personnel will participate in these roles in the morning drill.
Please wear your RHSD ID badge.
All employees will participate in this reunification drill and will report to Northwestern High school at 7:30 for elementary. At Northwestern, you will be given directions on where to park and which bus to board. During your bus ride, you will receive information on the role you will be playing and a brief on what to expect as you arrive at First Baptist Church.
We will conduct the drill for approximately one hour. After that time, all employees will gather in the sanctuary to hear Michele Gay speak about her experience as a Sandy Hook mother.
You should be back at Northwestern by 11:00.
You may have lunch on your own (until 1:00 pm) and work in your classrooms until 3:30 pm.
Friday, August 17-
The school is closed TODAY. Have a great weekend before school starts
Monday, August 20-
Our students are back!! Let's welcome our students to the beginning of an exciting school year! All of Mount Holly is asked to be on duty at 7:00 am on Monday, August 20 and Tuesday, August 21. If you have a conflict, please see me.
Reminder
The school will be open on Saturday, August 11 from 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday, August 12 from 9 am to 5 pm. Be sure to bring your badge so you are able to get in the building.
