Rodman Parking - PLEASE READ
We know parking can be challenging in the morning - Please take your time to find designated and safe spots to park making sure to hold hands with your child at all times for safety!
Also, we ask that the two parking spots near the front entrance NOT be used for general parking. We are currently using those spots for students who may need more time to transition in the morning, including our van transportation. Thank you for your understanding and support of our integrated program!
Any questions, please contact Shelley Needle - evanss@cantonma.org
Lively Letters
Students are doing a FANTASTIC job engaging with our literacy curriculum: Lively Letters. The Lively Letters curriculum is a comprehensive and engaging program designed to teach young children how to read and write. Developed by language experts and educators, this curriculum provides a structured and systematic approach to literacy instruction. The curriculum emphasizes phonemic awareness, letter recognition, and phonics skills through games, songs, and hands-on activities. We love seeing our young learners get excited for literacy!
The Mitten by Janet Brett
This week some students read the classic children's book "The Mitten." The Mitten is a children's picture book written and illustrated by Jan Brett. It is a timeless story that teaches children about sharing, kindness, and the consequences of their actions. With its beautifully detailed illustrations, "The Mitten" captures the magic of winter and the joy of friendship. The book is filled with whimsical characters and clever storytelling, making it a fun read for our preschool students!
Self-Regulation Station
This week, Ms. Russo, our school psychologist, visited classrooms to discuss two complex and important emotions - worried and excited. Ms. Russo aimed to help our young students understand and recognize these emotions, while also teaching them about perspective taking of others. Perspective taking refers to a child's ability to understand and consider another person's thoughts, feelings, and point of view. It involves putting oneself in someone else's shoes and seeing things from their perspective. By developing these skills at a young age, preschoolers can build a foundation for stronger social connections and understanding as they grow. Students did a great job engaging with the lesson!
