For Your Information:
- Remember our dedication to 2 positive parent contacts a week. This can be note, email, or call. The power of depositing in a parents' emotional bank account is critical to a supportive relationship.
- Attached is the morning meeting plan by each day of the week. Please make it a habit to utilize this morning time as agreed upon. We know there will be days this isn't possible, but commitment to teaching expectations for the Patriot Promise and helping children role play and solve problems together is crucial to our next steps.
- REMINDER!What is your music 911 song? Have you ever had a time when that perfect song changes your mood? Our social committee and I thought it would be fun to make a playlist of those songs that are our music 911 songs. We will play one at every faculty meeting. Please follow this link to list your 911 song.

This is a wonderful opportunity to push yourself to the next level! Here's what you need to do:
1. Watch the short video linked above.
2. Check out the Information and Registration Site.
3. Attend September 30th from 9:00-3:00.

Solar Eclipse reminders:
Once you have reviewed the safe procedure page, your team will need to practice your goggle procedures. Team procedures will prevent students from wondering what the other groups around them are doing and avoid any confusion on the students’ part for maximum safety.
Procedures:
1.) Walk your students outside to your locations with their heads focused on the ground. K Grade outside your class door. 1st-5th Grade to the track.
2.) Before viewing, have students place glasses on while still looking at the ground.
3.) Only with their glasses on can students view the sun.
3.)When ready to walk back to class have students look back down at the ground to remove their goggles.
4.) Then, take the glasses off.
5.) Finally, walk students back inside while keeping their heads down.
Need to know:
- · All permission were due Friday. Have assistants keep a list so we can look quickly on Monday rather than shuffle individual sheets. Students may only participate using the glasses WE provide. Should a parent want to use any other items, they should check their child out and view as a family.
- · Explicitly teach the necessary safety guideline for viewing. RATS did a great job of this on Friday.
- · Bring a cell phone with a flashlight in case it is needed during darkness
- · Be seated at the assigned place below BY 2:25
- Send all students who are NOT viewing to the library pit by 2:20, Stephanie Edwards will supervise. Lisa Hazlett will join LCF for increased supervision.
- RATS staff will also be outside to assist with transporting in should that be necessary
- Remember this instruction for parents: Some of you may be getting questions about parents coming to watch the eclipse with their children. If anyone inquires, please let them know that we are not inviting parents to view the eclipse at school due to the short duration of the event and the logistics of getting parents signed in and out this close to the end of the school day. Parents may choose to check their children out early and view from home if they are more comfortable with that option. Of course, we would send the glasses home with the student.
