Rockport High School
Viking News - The Week of 12/19/2022
Happy Friday, RHS Students!
As we head into the final school week before the holiday vacation, I wanted to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to the students, families and staff of RHS. Today was another fun one as we sported our Professional Athletic gear throughout the halls as a way to foster community and excitement leading into the vacation. Next Friday, RHS Student Council has organized a spirit event at 10:15 am. Wear your holiday sweaters (ugly or other!) to ring in the vacation together!
This past week, the RPS musicians kept us entertained and inspired with three district concerts; finishing off the series of events with the high school on Wednesday. Per usual, it was a fantastic showing of talent spanning across all three schools. Come out in support of RHS student group, Iota, playing at Whale's Jaw tonight at 7pm. Tickets are $10 each and available at the door in advance by calling 978-999-5241. 🎶🎸🎤
This past Thursday,, the Freshmen class organized pizza and manhunt throughout the school as a way to foster class bonding and spirit. Way to go, Class of 2026!! The event was a huge success. 🎉🥳
I wish you all a safe, healthy and happy holiday season.
Here's to a great week ahead 😎

Rock Those Socks
This year, once again, the students at RHS (and several other area high schools) are doing a sock drive to serve the homeless population of the Greater Boston area. Socks are the most often requested item at homeless shelters because socks quickly become wet and dirty during winter days spent on Boston streets. Rock Those Socks has raised thousands of pairs over the past 5 years. Boston Rescue Mission distributes most of the socks, while some go to local organizations. There is a collection box for new socks and/or hand and foot warmers in the lobby at RHS. Alternatively, there is Venmo available Nathaniel Cook@rockthosesocks. Please also visit the Facebook page @ Rock Those Socks. This mission started with a desire to help and a realization that students can usually afford the cost of a pair of socks. Happy Holidays to all, and thank you for your generous support.
RHS Mid-Term Exam Information - January 17th-January 20th, 2023
Please click the link below for a copy of the detailed exam schedule. Note that it is important for students and families to plan accordingly for the shortened exam days. Students are only expected to come in for their scheduled exams and are free to leave after they complete their obligations. Buses run per usual to accommodate the middle school schedule. If your high school student wishes to take the normally scheduled bus, he or she may use the library to read or to prepare for upcoming exams.
*In the event of an official district snow day, the exam schedule will be pushed forward; meaning, the exams scheduled for that day/s will take place the day we return to school and any remaining exams will take place on subsequent days.
