4. Sunglasses and sunscreen for being 67.25 million miles from the sun and because Venus is the brightest planet.
5. A gas mask to protect yourself from the poisonous air.
Things to do
2. Tanning at the outdoor lounge under the intense sun.
3. Visit the Venus Library to study the rich history of the planet, including its geographical features named only after women.
4. Venus is the planet of love, so check out all the suites and rooms we offer for couples.

Accommodations and amenities
The Venus Hotels offer mainly outdoor activities, including tours of the Maxwell Montes as well as bungee jumping from them. The Venus Hotels are also a great place to go for the perfect tan, because Venus is the second planet from the sun and the brightest. Lastly, the Hotel’s library offers information and brochures on the planet and the barbecue is always an option too.
(Note:No water available on the planet, need to bring your own)
It may be the second planet from the sun, but it's certainly not second best!
Vacation pitfalls
2. Be sure to never remove your safety space suit because you will either be crushed by the atmospheric pressure, burned by the acid, or suffocated by the poisonous air.
3. Don't forget your umbrella either because the acid rain will melt and burn your skin.

Fun facts
2. The Earth and Venus are very similar in size with only a 638 km difference in diameter, Venus having 81.5% of the Earth’s mass. Both also have a central core, a molten mantle and a crust.
3. Venus rotates backwards or clockwise from the rest of the planets.
4. Venus is so bright, it can be seen from Earth on a clear day!
5. Mayan astronomers discovered Venus as early as 650 AD but is was the Greeks and the Romans who named it after their goddess of love due to its luminosity.

Extra destination details
Distance from the sun: 67.24 Million Miles and 108,200,000 km, 0.723 A.U.
Length of a year: 225 days
Length of a day: 243 Earth days
Seasonal information: Venus' atmosphere consists mainly of carbon dioxide, with clouds of sulfuric acid droplets. Sulfuric acid clouds cause lightning bursts and it is always cloudy.
Planet’s tilt: 2.64 degree tilt
Orbital eccentricity and speed: orbits clockwise, so it retrogrades compared to the rest of the solar system. Orbits around the sun 78,341 miles per hour.
Size: Compared to Earth, Venus has a 638 km difference in diameter, Venus having 95% of the Earth's mass.
Surface temperature:surface temperatures higher than 470 degrees Celsius (880 degrees Fahrenheit). It can get up to almost 900 degrees Fahrenheit. The surface is made of nitrogen and carbon dioxide gas and its core is made of iron.
Gravity strength relative to Earth: you weigh 9% less than you do here on Earth. A 150 pound person would weigh 136 pounds.
Moons: no moons or rings
Summary of planet's pros
- The planet is the hottest and the most luminous
- It is believed Venus was named for the most beautiful of the ancient gods because it shone the brightest of the five planets known to ancient astronomers. Other civilizations have named it for their god or goddess of love/war as well.
- Close to Earth-not a long flight!
- Hot and sunny
- Almost all geographic features are named after famous women from world cultures. For example, sacagawea is a volcanic crater and a deep canyon is named Diana, the Roman goddess of the hunt.
- 41 missions have been sent to investigate its so safe-maybe. The Magellan mission in the early 1990s mapped 98 percent of the planet's surface.
- You'll be 9% lighter
Summary of the planet's cons
- Sulfuric acid rain
- Cratered and volcanic landscape
- Nitrogen and carbon dioxide air, thick and poisonous
- Hotter than mercury, can melt lead, probes have only survived 2 hours
- the pressure is so strong it would crush you. Even tough metal spacecraft were smashed after a few hours on the surface of Venus.
- Lots of erosion due to the thick dense atmosphere
- Rotates slowly and turns backwards clockwise-opposite the rest so a day is longer than a year. The sun rises in the West
