Open Our Eyes Lord!
In this weekend's Gospel, Jesus walks with his disciples on the Road to Emmaus. However, they do not recognize Him. It was only when they sat at the table to eat, Jesus took bread and gave thanks...then their eyes were open!

Mass Readings for April 26
- In the First Reading from Acts 2:14 22-23, Peter addresses the crowd summarizing Jesus' life, crucifixion, and resurrection.
- In the Second Reading from 1 Peter 1:17-21, this passage tells us to appeal to our Father who judges us, and to conduct ourselves in reverence during our time on Earth.
- In this week's Gospel Reading from Luke, just as Jesus "opened the eyes" of his disciples, we are reminded how Jesus opens our eyes and guides us through our journeys:
"And it happened that, while he was with them at table,
he took bread, said the blessing,
broke it, and gave it to them.
With that their eyes were opened and they recognized him."
Father, open our eyes that we may recognize that Jesus is with us as we walk through life's journey. We trust in him as he guides us in our daily walk and it is in his name, we pray!
