Sunrise Family Updates
4.19.24
Hi Sunrise Families!
I hope this message finds you well! Students worked so hard on the Forward test (it is over, except for a few make up tests)! Thank you again for all of your support.
Thank you also to all of you who made it to STEAM night last night. Holy cow it was amazing! Huge thank you to Aaron Pairolero, Bobby Deggendorf and Megan Jain. They were the masterminds behind this and we are so grateful for their hard work. We hope that our students left inspired and excited for all that is possible in the world of STEAM!
Finally, a couple quick reminders as the end of the year approaches:
- there should only be water in water bottles (and thank you for sending them every day)
- as it continues to warm up, a reminder that shorts should be the appropriate length (as a general rule, past one's finger tips)
At the end of the updates, I am trying to include as many upcoming calendar events as possible. It is exciting to think about the end of year picnic, etc. Thank you for marking your calendars as we love to have you all here!
Finally, today is the last day to register for Summer School! Please do so ASAP! We have a great turnout, but still space for more in many classes.
Enjoy the rest of the updates below and have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Katie Smullen
Sunrise Principal
STEAM Night was EPIC!
4th Grade Rubik's Cubers on Let's Go Door County!
We are so impressed by this group of 4th graders, led by Ms. Rabas who created this masterpiece out of Rubik's cubes that they solved, and created a design that they mapped out. It was a true labor of love!
Internet Options
With the Affordable Connectivity Program ending this month, we wanted to pass this along to you. The 211 Digital Resource Navigator service, provided by United Way of Wisconsin, offers assistance in finding internet/phone service providers and plans. You fill out an online contact form and then will be contacted by a Digital Resource Navigator; if you would prefer to call and leave a message, there is a phone number as well. You can also use the Wisconsin Internet Discount Finder site for self-service.
Important Band Updates - 4th and 5th Grade Parents
- 4th graders will have the opportunity to see the band in action (see flyer below) and then families are invited to a parent meeting to learn more about choosing an instrument. This is an awesome program for students!
- 5th grade band families, please remind your child to load the bus promptly. Mr. Vanderloop has been getting off the bus to make sure all students are gathered. This is causing the entire bus to be late and so we have asked that he no longer do this. 5th graders are given ample time by their teachers to gather their materials to board the bus. If a student misses the bus, they will call their family immediately. Thank you for having a plan in place if this were to happen.
Family Game Night sponsored by our PTO and Gnome Games was a great time!
