This Week at Lenape
Science Fair
Last week, students from our advanced 8th grade science classes and a few 9th graders submitted their science fair projects. Students from the whole school had the opportunity to walk through the library and take a look at the project displays. The projects featured some really interesting hypotheses and conclusions and the displays were eye catching and informative! Well done! Special thanks to Mrs. Wysocki, Mrs. Ciesielski, and Mrs. Adamek for their guidance!
9th Grade Hominin Skull Lab
9th grade students spent the week studying various hominin skulls in science with Mrs. Yeager, Mr. Coverdale, and Mrs. Adamek. Hominin is a term given to humans and all of our extinct ancestors who walked upright on two feet.
Spotlight: CB West Track
Some of our Lenape students competed in the PTFCA Indoor Track and Field State Championship Meet at Penn State University on Sunday, February 26th! They ended 9th in the state for their relay race.
Lenape student Rachel Folkins is the only Freshman that has been selected to run in 1 of only 4 events the CB West girls track team has qualified to enter into the state competition Sunday February 26th. Rachel Folkins is entered to run the 4 x 800 meter relay Sunday and again the only Freshman that has ran fast enough to be selected to compete at the state championship meet representing the girls CB West track and field team. She currently has the 4th fastest time of the entire CB West girls track team in the 800 meter distance.
Sofia Pocai and Olivia Nibot have worked hard and also represented the West girls track and field team in Penn State. Only 13 total of the entire girls West track and field team have been selected to attend the state championship, 7 of which will run to compete and the remaining 6 as alternates in the case one of the other 7 are unable to run.
It was a great day for the West boys and girls altogether, and we are Lenape Proud that our freshman girls were part of the team!

Laptop Breakage
We have seen a rise in the amount of screen breaks for student laptops. Our policy covers for 2 broken screens per device. If your child’s laptop screen breaks 3 times, we will be required to send you an invoice for the repair and labor. The current cost for this is $200. Please remind your child to care for their laptops. Some simple steps to assist are:
- Use two hands when holding or moving the device.
- Use clean hands while using the laptop or iPad.
- Use only the provided digital pen or finger on the screen.
- Use only the power adapter that came with the device.
- Use a microfiber cloth to clean the screen.
- Keep device stored in the provided case. This includes traveling through the hallways, on buses, or anytime the device is not being utilized.
- Make sure nothing is on the keyboard, close the lid, and remove all cables if any are plugged into the laptop. Place laptop in your bag carefully.
- Be careful when placing your case on the floor. Keep the device off the floor so screens do not get stepped on by others.
