Lakeforest Elementary
School Snapshot
Student Strengths and Weaknesses
This is the third year of Lakeforest, and NC School Report Cards has data for the 2011-2012 school year. Our school has made Expected Growth, but there is room for improvement. Lakeforest Elementary students are showing strengths in the areas of Reading and Math in Grade 4 for the 2011-12 school year. The area of concern is grade 3 and 5 Reading and Math.
Strategies to emphasis school strengths and improve weaknesses
The school plans to collaborate with grade 4 teachers to utilize what is working in their classrooms. We are encourage cross-grade level planning to ensure that all students are making growth. Lakeforest also plans to use Professional Development to help with improving teaching strategies in the classroom.
Parent Involvement
We will be holding Curriculum Nights for each grade level at the end of each nine weeks to inform parents on strategies that they can work on with their child at home. Student success starts in the primary grades. Every student and family in our school should be informed and prepared. We will also have Literacy and Math workshops on to help and inform parents that have children in testing grades.
