January News
What's happening at HGECC?
Happy New Year!
Dear HGECC families,
Welcome 2024! Can you believe we are saying that? 2023 went by fast, and here we are in January already. We hope you all had a nice winter break and were able to spend some time relaxing and enjoying family.
During these first few weeks, our staff will spend time reviewing procedures and expectations with all of our students. Sometimes coming back after a long break can be hard for all of us, so a review and practice of our routines is always helpful!
- If you get the chance to drive by High Grove, take a peak at our new signs. They light up!
- Spring screenings are coming up in March. Watch for this notification. Please remember this is for "new" students to our program ages 3 & 4 years of age.
This second semester always goes by so quickly, and you will see some amazing changes in your child from the beginning of the year. We will be scheduling home visits and/or parent teacher conferences this semester, so be looking for information from your teacher about that in the next couple months.
Remember-if you ever have any questions or ideas you would like to share with me, please give me a call!
Let's make this a fantastic January!

Conscious Discipline Focus at Home:
Be Present
This month, continue your focus on being present with your child. Be present in the moment. Take the opportunity to connect by getting down on the floor, look your child in the eye, and be silly! Have fun with your child, connect, and make memories.
Remember-when those moments of upset come-breathe... you got this!

Visit our Success By Six Resource Center!
I don't know if you know this-but we have an amazing SB-6 center located in our building! What is this you ask? It's like a library full of toys, games, books, and resources! You can bring your child for playgroups, story times, and check out fun toys to take home with you--just like checking books out from the library!
We are open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Stop by and check something out!
