Notes from the Office
Big thanks to PTA for NEW Basketball hoops! The "vintage" hoops are gone, and stay tuned for pictures next week--our students will enjoy fancy new basketball hoops! Exciting!
SPACE: Our students got to speak with a real NASA expert today, and she's talked to NASA astronauts, a president, and brings a passion for exploration and learning! 3rd/4th enjoyed presentations today, and the rest of our students will enjoy the NASA content March 4 and 14. Special thanks to Mrs. Ahern who made this special visit possible.
Grades 3-5 Families:
- Did you know? Our school has a very positive testing culture! Our motto to students ("Do your best, we take care of the rest") has been noted by district leaders as a part of making Red Rocks shine. Kids "show what they know" and we take it from there! CMAS testing is coming up in April, the once-per-year state check of academic standards. One student shared, "Hey, it's kind of fun!"
- Can you help? Kids overwhelmingly prefer to test when their peers are testing. Please help us reduce non-essential absences during the state testing cycle. You can check your grade level testing schedule here. Feel free to reach out to us with questions.
Personal Technology: For Safety, and as per the RR Family/Student Handbook, students are discouraged from bringing personal technology, such as cell phones and smart watches, to school. If such items are brought to school, it is best if they are turned off and in backpacks during school hours. Misuse of technology can be a safety issue, and may result in staff holding the device during the school day. For repeated offenses, items will be held in the office for pick up by parent.
Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students): Calling all Dad's and Mentors of great students! Our schedule is now updated through the end of the school year. Sign-up for a half or full day HERE.

Notes from the PTA
Art Club Has Openings!
We Need Your Help!
Red Rocks Elementary PTA's Board consists of its Officers and Committee Chairs. All of our Officer positions (President, VP, Secretary and Treasurer) are up for election (1 Year Terms) and will be voted on at our March General meeting. Committee Chairs will be voted on in May along with the 24-25 Budget.
While some members of our PTA board are returning, we have several board members who are “graduating” with their children or stepping back from their current roles. Please consider joining our Board as we would love to work with you and bring your ideas to our school. In order to continue offering all that our PTA does, these Officer positions and Committees must be filled each and every year. It truly takes a village to run our incredible volunteer PTA.
Help us continue all the incredible work of our PTA by joining our Board. Please see the Google Form for more information on these rewarding opportunities.
