About the Song
It is a piece of orchestral music. It was for the 6th scene of act 2 in Henrik Ibsen's 1867 play Peer Gynt. And it is a very recognizable theme. The piece starts off with cellos, double basses, and bassoons, but in the melody many different instruments are featured. It has been used in media, music education, in popular music, and in movies. Peer Gynt is an animation where a man has been caught by monsters and attempts to escape. I like how this song starts off kind of boring and slower but eventually becomes faster and more exciting and i think the music goes very well with the scene that is going on in Peer Gynt.
