Week 21 ELA Information
Happy New Year to all of you! We have made good strides the first half of the year, so let's continue to keep moving forward. At this time 5th grade is completing their Middle of the Year-reading diagnostic test (i-ready). During the week of the 27th 5th grade will take the North Carolina Check In test. This test will give us a better understanding of where we are-which direction we are headed-and what do we need to do to get there.
5th grade will test in the areas of reading, math, and science. Make sure your child goes to bed at an appropriate time and eats a well balanced breakfast before taking his/her test each day. Again, thank you for all you have done to make this school year a success so far. Let's continue to move forward.
- Remind for parents to check your students' reading and writing journals daily. This will help them greatly keep up with what is going on in class.
- Next week we will be covering how to identify the theme of a text.
- If your student has any missing assignments, turning the assignment in is very important for the student's grade.
- Participation during synchronous instruction is essential to student success
