Treasurer's Report :
Linda Plews reported:
Book fair raised $750.00.
Currently we are $1700 over budget. However, we have a $5000 overage. We have a few more events coming up that we have to pay for.
We received a $2000 grant for the library.
Discussion points:
Lucky Charms Breakfast: 3/15 This breakfast takes place throughout the school day. This is a free breakfast for all students. We ask for a $1.00 donation for all students to be given to an organization that helps those with MS.
Newsies Play 3/15 and 3/16. The play will be performed over the weekend. Anyone who did not receive tickets please feel free to ask for a request on the Makefield Facebook group.
Milers is very popular this year. So far there are about 50 students participating. The students made goal cards. Each week the students have a different lesson. We are looking for volunteers to help out with Milers to help keep students safe and to be at different post points. Volunteers do not need to run. Please let Linda know if you’re available to help out.
Bag Bingo: April 12. Doors open at 6, event starts at 7. $35 in advance, tickets are $40 if purchased at the door. At this point, we are still asking for donations. This is an adults only event. Tickets are on sale on Cheddar Up. A flier was sent home about this event a few weeks ago. There will be raffle tickets, 50/50, Lucky Ducks, and door prizes.
Yes You Can 5k. April 28. There has been a flash sale. There’s a student sponsorship page for those who have registered to participate in the run as well as the Milers. Family members can donate to the 5k and send notes of encouragement for participants. We are looking for corporate sponsorships for this event.
Class trips will be happening in the next few months. If you are a family in need of financial assistance for the class trip, please reach out to Colleen W in the main office.
Spring into Kindergarten: 5/15 This is an event for incoming Kindergarteners. A story will be read, students will have an opportunity to play on the playground, as well as tour the Kindergarten classes.
Garden: a sign up genius has gone out looking for volunteers to help out in the Makefield Learning Garden during recess time. We will be having a family day in the upcoming months asking families to come help out in the garden over the weekend. We will also need some help over the summer months. Thank you to Jeff for harvesting.
Field Day: 5/31 T-shirt sales will be available soon. We will be looking for lots of volunteers to help with this event. All volunteers will need clearances. Family members are welcome to come watch this event. Family members just watching and not volunteering do not need clearances complete.
Old Business:
New Business: Art Fundraiser. Penelope Fox Studios will be sending home pre stamped art canvases for those who wish to purchase a kit. They will be delivered the week of Spring Break.
Next GA PTO Meeting: Thursday, April 11. There will be in person and virtual options.

Makefield Community Outreach
Dear Makefield Families,
Makefield Community Outreach (formally known as the Sunshine Committee) would like to take a moment to let you know more about what we do. This program is sponsored by the MESPTO and has a mission to support teachers, students, and their families to ensure that the entire Makefield community has what they need to be successful in school. In order to reach our entire school community we would like to take this time to describe the resources that we have available this fall and winter. We will reach out again in the spring with more information about future opportunities.
If you would like to use any of the options below, please reach out to Colleen Wierzbowski cwierzbowski@pennsburysd.org. To respect the privacy of all of our community members, Colleen will be the only one to receive emails and requests. The committee will fulfill her requests, but will never know who the resources are going to.
In the Fall and throughout the year we provide:
Teachers with Back to School Gift Cards to help set up their classrooms
The Nurse with new clothes for days when kids might need to change
Daily Snacks for each classroom like pretzels or animal crackers for days when kids forget
Halloween costumes
Books for reading at home
Back to school supplies
Vouchers for Oktoberfest
Vouchers for Thanksgiving pies

Gift cards for food and clothes
In the Winter we provide:
