2nd Grade News
with Ms. Przedpelski
This year I am very thankful for having a classroom full of such sweet & bright 2nd graders. I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday break, and that you are able to enjoy some quality time with your family. I look forward to hearing about our Thanksgiving adventures when we return in a week!
Important News & Reminders for when we return....
1. Homework Packet:
Your child is coming home with their homework packet today. This homework packet is not due until FRIDAY, DECEMBER 2nd. We hope all of our 2nd graders will enjoy some relaxing time at home over the holiday break! You can choose to complete this homework over the break OR when we return the following week. Students are also bringing home their Social Studies Creek/Cherokee study guides! This test will be the Tuesday we return. Your students have done a fantastic job on this unit, so just a quick review of this information should be just fine to prepare them for this assessment. I also encourage your students to read, read, read while they are at home! Our reflections will be due when we return. Some students have one more to write, so they should read one book over the break :)
2. We are going to the AQUARIUM!
We will be visiting the aquarium on Wednesday, November 30th when return from the break. It will be a fantastic field trip! Please make sure your child is wearing their RED FSAPS polo and uniform bottoms on this day. The field trip payment includes a lunch, so you do not need to send your child with a lunch on Wednesday. However, you can send 2 snacks. We will have a snack before we leave and when we return. It may be chilly when we return from the break. Please make sure your child's name is written in their jacket
3. Are you Going Out of Town?
If your family will be leaving early for Winter break, please let me know now. This will greatly help with planning for end of the year lessons and events. Thank you!
Creek and Cherokee Paper Slides Project
Students worked SO hard on their writing project this past week. We combined our Social Studies content and our informational writing skills to create a digital book all about the Creek and/or Cherokee. Please enjoy our Paper Slides presentations!

Variety Show Auditions!
Back by popular demand, Fulton Science Academy is once again looking forward to a Variety Show. This annual event provides students with a fun and enjoyable opportunity to showcase their talents to fellow students and peers.
Any student interested in participating must first audition. We ask that interested participants please choose an audition time slot below using this group signup form. Slots will be filled on a first-come, first served basis.

Please tell us in the comment section what you plan to do for your audition and what, if anything, you need from us (background music, etc.) It is important to make sure that you can commit to arriving at least five minutes before your chosen audition time.
Please note: if you miss your audition, you will forfeit your opportunity to perform. We apologize in advance, but auditions cannot be rescheduled and there are no do-overs. We have many people who wish to participate, and there is only space for a limited number of acts per show. It is imperative that you please choose a good audition time that you can commit to attending.
ALSO, PLEASE PLAN TO AUDITION ONLY IF YOU WILL BE HERE FOR THE PERFORMANCES.
Variety Show Performance Dates/Times:
Elementary Show - Monday, December 19th @ 2:30pm
Middle/High Show - Tuesday, December 20th @ 2:30pm
4th & 5th grades: TBD; performers in this age group will be assigned to one of the shows above based upon the number of qualified entries.
We look forward to seeing everyone for this fun event!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Millar and Mrs. Peacock
