What's Heating Up at Holy Spirit
March 22-26
For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things - Psalm 107:9-
Fifth SUnday of Lent
In today’s Gospel reading Jesus says, “Unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.”
Jesus told his friends that he had to be like a seed. He would die and be buried, and a few days later come back to life. Because Jesus died, we can be freed from our sins and live.
The Power of Change
This week we focus on the third pillar of Lent - Almsgiving, where we give to those in need. Each class has been assigned a glass jar. Students are encouraged to bring in loose change during the week of March 22 and try to fill their classes jar to the top! The money will be donated to help vulnerable women and children of Valeda House.
If Holy Spirit raises $500 or more by March 25, Mrs. Cahill will dye Mrs. Yuzdepski’s hair! The colour will be chosen by Holy Spirit students.
