"Preparing students for success in an ever-changing world."
We start this week with some questionable weather that could present challenges with your Monday morning commute - please allow yourself extra time as your make your way to school.
Congratulations to our sports teams this past week/weekend as many of our teams are finding early season success with respect to competitiveness and early victories.
A special congratulations to our student thespians, their families, and Mrs. Leavitt for three successful performance of 'Almost Maine' this past weekend. 12 weeks of work was on fine display with these performances and our students should be incredibly proud of themselves. On a related note, the MHS Mustang Theatre Troupe will be hosting a special event on Saturday, December 16th billed as the Gingerbread Cafe & Market - see the flyer below!
Finally, a friendly reminder to our families and community members visiting our campus for upcoming athletic competitions, concerts, and events. RSU 57 policies regarding substances apply to all on our campus, not just our students. Tobacco products, alcohol, and drugs are prohibited on campus - individuals in possession of, or under the influence of, substances is strictly prohibited. Thank you, in advance, for helping to maintain a safe and healthy school community for all.
-Mr. Thurlow

Way to go, Isabelle!
Students in Mrs. Todd’s World History are learning about the advent of the printing press and its impact on Europe. Students looked at the construction and meaning of popular nursery rhymes as a means of teaching and communicating lessons to children in the 1400s and analyzed how the invention of the printing press was a catalyst for the increase in literacy and geographic awareness at the turn of the Sixteenth Century. Students are engaged in a lively discussion and are making connections between the past and present-day real world events. One student said, “It’s really interesting to see all the increases that came from this one invention.” Great job, Mrs. Todd. Thank you for providing our students with valuable connections to the past and implications for their futures!
