George Washington's army went to Valley Forge.Valley Forge Pennsylvania was 20 miles from the British in Philadelphia.George thought he could keep an eye on the British general from where they were at.Dec 1777-1778 is how long they were in Valley Forge.Washington's army spent the summer "harassing" and fighting the British and trying to keep the British out of Philadelphia.It was hard at Valley Forge. There was shortages of food, clothes ,and medicine.Some men had to wrap their feet in cloth because they were barefoot.Men got sick from disease, hunger ,and exposure. This was an important event in history because they risked their lives for freedom, life, and the pursuit of happiness.
George Washington
George Washington was the general of the patriots army. George was born in Westmoreland County Virginia on February 22, 1732. George was important in the revolution because he was their leader and took care of his men. Washington later on became our first president in the United States of America.
