Whoo Calls
To recognize students and continue to build a positive school culture, staff at Page School give out Whoo Calls when they catch an act/behavior that embodies our school values! Student names are called out on the announcements each Friday, and students then come to the main office to receive a certificate! Below are the recipients of Whoo Calls this week! Congratulations to all!

Updates from Nurse Courtney!
Happy April! For the month of March, I had 438 student visits. March is typically high for visit volume due to no long breaks, cold season still in full force and the start of early seasonal allergies. Yes, your scratchy throat may be seasonal allergies striking! We've had Strep circulating as well. The top complaints were non-serious musculoskeletal injuries, headaches and congestion.
As a reminder, our district policy states that no peanut or tree nut products may be consumed in the classrooms. This means we ask that no foods containing peanut or tree nut products be brought in for snack time. Tree nuts include walnut, almond, hazelnut, pecan, cashew and pistachio. Coconut products are allowed at snack time unless you have been made aware of an allergy in your child's classroom. Unfortunately, because home baked/prepared foods pose a higher risk for children with allergies, we ask that you do not send these types of snacks but instead ones that are pre-packaged with a label. If your child brings in a snack that is not pre-packaged with a label, they will not be allowed to eat that snack and can save it for lunchtime. We've had several occasions across all grade levels where students are bringing unlabeled items or items containing allergens in for snack. If you buy products in bulk i.e pretzels, Smart Food, Mini Muffins, etc. please make sure to provide a label cut out from the original package or send a picture and email it to me/the classroom teacher. If your child has eaten peanuts/nuts before coming to school, please be sure your child’s hands and face have been thoroughly washed before entering the school. Children without allergies are allowed to bring peanut/nut products in for lunch time only. Thank you for your attention to this very important matter and doing your part to keep all of our students safe!
I started seeds in my office, and they are growing!! I’ve got two types of echinacea (coneflower), which is a powerful immune booster, chive, parsley, cabbage, spaghetti squash, Tuscan kale, and pumpkins. A lot of visiting students have asked about them. It’s a nice way for me to explain the connection between plants we grow and how we can use those plants to fuel and heal our bodies. We also have growing happening in our front lobby! More will be coming out of our lovely garden so stay tuned! Speaking of...Come get your hands dirty in the Page Community Garden! PLEASE NOTE THE DATE CHANGE! On Saturday April 13th from 11a-1p, members of the Page School community are hosting an annual spring clean up, and we'd love for you to join! All are welcome as we prepare the garden for the upcoming season. We have a lot of exciting ideas and initiatives coming out of the garden this year. Our ultimate goal is to have as many staff, students and families engaged as possible. We'd like it to be a space for everyone in the community to enjoy! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me or Adam Belanger (6th grade Special Ed teacher) for further details.
