The ROAR
Shelby Middle School - Oct. 2022
A Note From Principal Danielson
As we started the year, we held our ROAR kickoff assembly with our students on the first day of school. The acronym R.O.A.R. stands for Respect, Ownership, Actions, and Rise. These are the guiding principals we encourage all students to strive toward to be amazing humans and scholars.
We also have completed our first round of NWEA testing in Reading/Language Arts and Math. As we continue this year, we will use this testing to guide our instruction in order to make sure each and every student gets what they need to be successful here at SMS.
I encourage you to contact your child's teachers if you have questions about academics and make sure you have a parent portal set up so that we can be a team in your students' education.
Happy Fall,
Mrs. Danielson

Also, on Oct. 24th the middle school and high school students will be attending the Forward Initiatives assembly on anti-bullying and how to be safe online. It is going to be an amazing assembly as they bring their own DJ to make this a relevant and interesting time of good solid safe information and practices for our young people!
