Catholic Schools Week 2016 February 1-5
February 1 - I Love My School Day – Share our “love” with those in Nursing Homes by making Valentine Cards for the residents.
February 2 - Teacher and Staff Appreciation Day
PTO will provide a delicious meal for the teachers and staff members.
STUDENTS MAY BRING IN A PILLOW AND BLANKET FOR A MOVIE AFTERNOON!
February 3 - Student Appreciation Day- 100th day of school
Free Dress Day- Students may wear crazy hats & socks this day. Teachers will have activities planned to celebrate the students. There will also be a Pep Rally at 1:00
BRING IN YOUR 100 DAY BAGGIES!!
February 4 - Parent Appreciation Day and Fun In Faith Day
Students will write a note, letter, card, or make a Seesaw video on why they love and appreciate their parents. We will also have school Mass dedicated to our parents at 9:00 am. All are welcome to come join us. Classrooms will hold spelling bees, Holy Card trading, religious games, and much more to celebrate our Catholic Faith.
February 5 - Grandparents Day
The program will begin at 12:30 in the Gym. Students are asked to “dress up” for the program. Students may leave early with their grandparents to enjoy the afternoon together. There will be NO After School Program.

All About Penguins unit - penguins, adaptations, types of penguins, penguins vs. birds, locating penguins on the map
Spelling- NO TEST or Words this week - We will have a spelling bee this week between all the first grades. 5 children from each class will compete.
Congratulations to our class winners who will compete in Thursdays Spelling Bee.

HOMEWORK
I sent home a Valentine list and note today, please make sure to read it.
Read every night for 10 minutes
New Book-it forms went home and are due Feb. 29th.
BOOK-IT - Don't forget to write down the 6 books or 6 chapters you read of a book with the author. I do need a parent signature also.
We do have a lost/found cart by the front office you can come and look at to see if your child's belongings have made their way there.
WE WILL PLAY OUTSIDE as long as the temperature is at or above 40 degrees.
