A Message from the Principal
Dear Cherokee Families,
You can feel the spring fever in the Cherokee halls! The students are excited to share what they are looking forward to doing over spring break! I can’t wait to hear about adventures from near and far when school resumes April 1st. It was fun to see all of the crazy socks yesterday for World Down Syndrome Day!
Thank you to all of the families who joined us this week for the Feed My Starving Children service event that was organized by our Student Leadership Team Service Committee. It was a great way to come together and do something for those in need.
Wishing everyone a fantastic Spring Break!
Sincerely,
Dr. Cavanaugh

Spirit News and Events
Our Home & Garden team is already preparing for our upcoming H&G Tour on September 26. Last year was a huge success, and we are looking forward to another fun and exciting event this year.
Speaking of fun...
We are looking for volunteers to help make this year's Home & Garden Tour an unforgettable experience.
Volunteering for this exciting event is a great way to get involved in your school district, have some laughs, have fun, get up close and personal with a few extraordinary homes in Lake Forest, and meet some truly wonderful parents who work hard to make District 67 exceptional for our students.
Oh, and did we mention FUN?
You can give as much or as little time as you can spare. The only requirements are a positive attitude and a desire to get the job—whatever it may be—done!
So, if getting involved, having fun, and meeting wonderful people sounds like something you would enjoy, please contact Carolyn Hutchinson at carolynhutchinson@gmail.com for more information.
Our Mission
It shall be the mission of the Spirit of 67 Foundation to raise funds and acquire resources to provide enriching, educational and cultural experiences for the students, parents,
faculty and staff of Lake Forest School District 67 that might not otherwise be provided.
Walk Your Wheels Uptown in the Central Business District
As the weather warms up, please remember to walk e-scooters and bikes on sidewalks uptown in the Central Business District. Last year, Lake Forest City Council approved an ordinance prohibiting the use of recreational powered devices (electric scooters, electric bikes, etc.) on sidewalks in the Central Business District. Riders must dismount and walk their devices within the Central Business District boundaries to avoid a fine of up to $300 per offense.
Police officers will begin issuing citations in April, so it’s a good time to familiarize yourself with the Central Business District boundaries to avoid a fine. Learn more.
