Team Curington: One Team, One Goal
Principal's Corner
Dear Curington Families,
We had a great week of teaching and learning! We would like to thank you for joining us this past Friday for our Moms/Mother Figures Lunch. The second part of our Moms Lunch (Last Names N-Z) will be this upcoming Monday, March 25. Please see our flyer in our newsletter below. We look forward to seeing you there! A huge thank you to our wonderful CES PTO for coordinating and hosting this event.
We also had a little bit of Friday Fun as we celebrated our 96% school-wide attendance goal with a crazy hair day! Thank you, parents, for supporting us with this goal! Anytime our school has 96% attendance or higher, we get to add a letter to our Fun Friday phrase. We are starting a new Fun Friday phrase, and our next incentive goal is Board Game Day!
We would like to continue to ask for your support in completing your child's returning student registration for 2024-2025. There are only about 5 questions to complete (if you are a returning student), and it can also be done on your phone. We have about 75 registrations completed for next year. Please assist us in completing this registration as soon as you can so we can plan for the number of teachers and support staff needed for next year. The link is below.
We are excited about the upcoming renovation that will take place at our school. Our CES library will be renovated starting in late May 2024. The project is expected to be completed in February 2025. Our librarian, Ms. Boddie, and I have been meeting with district departments as we plan for this fantastic project. We are working on the plan to pack our library books, and we will have an alternate mini-library room as the project gets worked on for the 2024-2025 school year. On March 28th, this will be the last day for library classes. Students will still be able to check out books for a few more weeks after this date; however, Ms. Boddie will need to pause classes so she can organize all 10,000 books. We thank you for your support, and we will keep you updated on library updates.
On April 2nd, we will have our PK and Kinder Round-Up for the 2024-2025 school year. If you know of any families that have an incoming PK or Kinder student, please let them know about this event. (Remember, PK has certain requirements that must be met before enrolling.) More information is listed below.
Lastly, we continue to be proud of our students as they work on problem-solving, researching, and exploring new content! Way to go, Cougars!
Thank you for staying connected with us! Contact our front office team for any additional assistance needed.
Have a fantastic week!
Go Cougars!

Good Things at CES
We had a great week of learning and activities! This past week we recognized students in each grade level for demonstrating one of the Great Eight Skills during our Cougar Huddles. We also had PK students participating in sensorimotor activities and students in Kinder and first researching and learning more about non-fiction. Dr. Craft visited our school for a Listen and Learn with faculty and staff and our Child Nutrition Team also invited students to try fruits in the Fresh Market event this past Friday. Go Cougars!
Attendance Matters-Our CES Average Daily Attendance Goal is 96%
Thank you, CES families, for supporting us with our attendance goal. Below is a five-day report of our average daily attendance. Please continue to assist us in bringing your child to school each day. We were only able to meet our goal one time last week. Thank you for your support!
