Math Updates:
We will be meeting with the Intermediate Teachers this week. We will continue to focus on PARCC and how we can incorporate modeling and reasoning into our lessons!
Reading Updates:
Intermediate teachers had CP where they analyzed their F&P running records and planned for strategy groups. The teachers also reviewed the F&P comprehension conversation prompts and how they plan to implement then into Guided Reading instruction.
Thanks for all you are doing to grow our readers! Please reach out if you need support.
Social & Emotional Updates:

Updates from Rodney:
Notes:
- Next Thursdays PD is on quality learning environment.
- Focus on updating consequence squares if necessary, updating student work which should be aligned with current work, updating and creating process charts that align with current work.
- Focus on classroom organization and neatness
- Update PBIS incentives
- Students should not be wearing the hoods up on their hoodies in the building
Instructional Thoughts:
- Be very careful about what you post on Class Dojo. Only use it for whole class news or updates, positive incentives or communication (i.e.-little johnny had a good day today), to give positive points. Any confidential communication should happen via phone or in person.
- PBIS Incentives: consider opportunities for outdoor learning including use of the outdoor classroom - science, writing activities, kickball tournament, or other outdoor activities.
- Continue to give PBIS Incentives - donut or snack with Walker, lunch with Walker, Walker serves lunch in the cafeteria
Math Data - Glows and Grow
We had a Math Walk Through in grades 1-5 last Wednesday. We were fortunate to have Amanda Salveron and JoAnn Shields join us. We got some great feedback and will use the recommendations to continue to grow. Please see the "tweet" below for our glows and grows!
Our focus this week will be Explicit Comprehension for grades 2 -5.
