Workshop Description & Overview
Target Audience: This opportunity is open to K-5 Math teachers, intervention specialists, and or elementary-level building administrators.
(You can register for one or both--they do not necessarily build on each other)
Part 1: Math Fluency in the Elementary Classroom (8:30 am - 11:30 am)
Get ready for a day of learning, thinking, planning and creating!
We will start our day with Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Fluency, but Were Afraid To Ask! We will find out the "behind the scenes" to fact fluency and we will learn how to help your students be more successful, too! Need new games? You will leave with games that will engage your students! Looking for daily warm-ups that will help those students make fluency connections? You'll get those, too! We will even get a chance to play the games and work through those activities so you are ready to take them back to your own room to use on Monday!
You'll leave renewed and refreshed and restocked to finish out the remainder of the year with a plan and a smile!
Part 2: Math Hyperdocs and Project-Based Learning (12:30 pm - 3:30 pm)
After lunch, we will take a closer look at Project Based Learning! Want to start PBL but you just aren't sure where to start? We will take the guesswork out of it and shine a light on this great way to engage all levels of students! We will look at planning out a PBL experience and we will even take time to start you on your own PBL planning journey!
