Counseling Department Update
Nov. 16 - Dec. 21
Pep Fest Dec. 2017
This Month...
- November 17th was the pick-up date for the annual Eagle County Law Enforcement Stock the Pantry food drive. Our students collected nearly 600 pounds of canned goods and money.
- In the last weeks of the school semester, the counseling department continued to host their small groups with each grade level on topics such as leadership and self-esteem.
- Tuesday, December 12th we held our School Counseling Advisory Council Meeting in the iQuad. We had tremendous support from our students and a few parents and community members. Thank you for your support!
- This year, the entire school participated in the Adopt-a-Family program through the Salvation Army. The amount of gifts we were able to give to each family was an outstanding show of support from our GCMS Wolves.
Adopt-a-Family Gifts
Thanks to GCMS staff and students, we are able to help three families have special Christmas with lots of gifts.

Lots more gifts!
During the 2017-18 school year, the counseling team will be working towards developing a school counseling program that meets the standards of the ASCA (American School Counseling Association) National Model. It is an ambitious plan to implement a comprehensive program in one year, but the support from all stakeholders makes this possible. By implementing a comprehensive program, we hope to meet the requirements that will get us RAMP (Recognized ASCA Model Program) Certified.
