Osmosis
By Ryan the Great
Osmosis is the random movement of solvent molecules through a partially permeable membrane. Osmosis occurs in three ways: hypertonic, hypotonic, and isotonic.
Hypertonic Solution
The amount of molecules outside the cell is higher than that on the inside.
Hypotonic Solution
The amount of molecules inside the cell is higher than that on the outside.
Isotonic Solution
The amount of molecules inside the cell is the same as that on the outside.
