Spring Sport practices are canceled through April 1
Did you ever wish you had the opportunity to test drive a career path while you were in high school?
Incoming sophomores, juniors, and seniors are invited to discover their career aspirations by participating in the WLWV Internship Pathways program this summer. Students gain hands-on work experience and training at a local business, organization, or with a department in the school district. Students learn job specific skills, build their resume, and explore a career path. After logging 30 hours at the internship site and completing career-based assignments a student earns elective high school credit and also have the option of earning Clackamas Community College credit. To earn credit a student needs to complete career-based assignments outside of their internship time. Internships may be available in Agricultural Sciences, Computer Science, Education, Environmental Science, Graphic Design, Journalism, Marketing, Photography, and many more. Internships are unpaid and do not lead to employment at the end of the internship. The summer application period is now open and closes May 6th. To see the current Menu of Summer Internships or to apply please visit, www.wlwv.k12.or.us/internship. Internship placement is not guaranteed, it is possible an internship will not be available that matches your student's career interest area.
If you know a business or organization that might be willing to host a youth internship please contact Laura Nappi, Internship Coordinator, Nappil@wlwv.k12.or.us, (503) 673-7000 ext 6348

Wilsonville Community Portrait Project 2020
Please nominate special people in the Wilsonville community who make our city and our groups and communities special. The fine art department is teaming up with other art programs in our Wilsonville schools and with the Wilsonville Arts & Culture Council, the planning committee for the Wilsonville Festival of Arts, and all of it funded by the Charbonneau Art Society. The portraits will be unveiled with celebration at this year's Wilsonville Festival of Arts in Town Center Park, May 30 & 31, then go "on tour" to different venues in the City. The nomination form is easy to fill out, and explains a little more about this wonderful project. We have forms in English and Spanish.
