Thunderblast
Respecting EACH Student, Staff, & Family- March 17, 2024
Sometimes You Gotta go slow to go fast
This is ironic since last week the opening was, "It's a sprint, not a marathon." I play Sodoku in the morning when I wake up to get into the zone for the day. I typically spend 20 minutes on an expert puzzle. I tried a new strategy where I take my time adding notes and reassessing as I go. Now my best time is 5 min and 29 seconds. I usually stay under 10 minutes. What changed? Patience and careful planning. I learn something new everyday. Maybe it is okay to slow down a bit.

SPIRIT WEEK
Solar Eclipse
Chromebook Repairs
We went from the 15th place to 10th in one month! We were actually in 7th when I originally wrote this, but we had a rough Friday. In February, we had the lowest incidents of any middle school with only 56. Last year, we were the worst middle school with the highest need for repairs.
How can you help? Charging at home every night is key. Making it part of bedtime routine with brushing teeth goes a long way. We are not charging in the classroom because of multiple reasons, but especially because of broken chromebooks. I don't want students missing class to charge. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Staff of the Week
Ms. Martin is an amazing advocate for our students as a reading specialist! Her lessons are engaging and she always finds a way to hook our students and help them find the beauty in the written word. Speaking of beautification, Ms. Martin has been working with our faculty team to beautify our outdoor campus and we have some new ideas that we have been working on this year that I think you will all enjoy! Thank you for making reading fun and helping us realize the potential of the most beautiful campus in Loudoun, Ms. Martin!
UMHT
To help address the nationwide opioid crisis, Keith Robinson, our Student Assistant Services Specialist created the following presentation for us to share with our Seneca families and students. The goal of this presentation is prevention and to educate our students about the dangers of Fentanyl. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your student’s counselor.
