Reflections from Ms. Williams
WBMS Parents and Guardians –
This week’s message will focus on our Blue Ribbon Partner - The LRJ Foundation. LRJ has greatly impacted the People and Culture and Community Collaboration pillars our school strategic plan. Their work with our students, parents, and teachers has made Webb Bridge a more positive place to learn and grow, and I will be forever grateful for their dedication to supporting our focus on overall wellness. I first met learned about LRJ Foundation in 2017 when one of our teachers reached out to them in hopes of helping our school broaden its mental health awareness. The founder met with our administrative and counseling staff to discuss her organization, share her vision, listen to our local needs and tailor the programming to our community. This meeting was the beginning of a powerful partnership. Since then LRJ certified counselors have offered professional development to our staff, parents , and students. In 2018 they collaborated with our health department to create age-appropriate mental wellness curriculum we now use in all health classes at WBMS; furthermore, the LRJ counselors arrive every nine weeks to personally take part in teaching all grade levels about the importance of positive relationships and how these connections impact our overall health. They were here this week and spent an entire day with our students. Additionally, they are partnering with us as we plan our first-ever middle school Student Leadership and Wellness Summit for our students and the students of the other NWLC middle schools later this year. LRJ is truly part of the WBMS Community!
Enjoy your long weekend with family and friends!
