RED RIBBON WEEK: October 26-30
Fort Worth ISD will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week from October 26th, to October 30th. During this week, we encourage students to stay away from harmful substances and make healthy choices in all aspects of their daily lives. Even though this year has been very different, Greenbriar will celebrate Red Ribbon Week with daily themes, announcements, and activities that will encourage positive decisions that will follow them into adulthood.
- Monday-“I Dot My I’s and Cross My T’s By Saying No To Drugs”-Students may wear polka-dots and /or stripes.
- Tuesday-“I Am Drug Free Down To My Toes”-Students may wear crazy socks.
- Wednesday-“Team Up Against Drugs”-Students may wear t-shirts or jerseys of their favorite professional, college, or local teams.
- Thursday-“I Elect To Be Drug Free”-Students may wear red, white, and blue.
- Friday-“When I Jump Out of Bed, I Have Better Things to Do Than Drugs”-Students may wear appropriate pajamas.
If a student chooses not to participate in a theme, they must wear FWISD standardized dress, however, we want all in-person and virtual students to join in and have a good time.
We would love to have pictures submitted, but please remember if you send in a picture, it may be posted to Greenbriar’s social media. It should be a fun week!

Arrival and Dismissal Safety
Arrival: Parents, please remember that the building opens at 7:40 AM. Please keep your students in your cars or stand and wait with them outside until the bell rings at that time (especially when it rains).
Please help us by doing the following:
- Continue to move your car up as the line moves up (This is especially important as rainy days come along. We will wait to release the students as the cars pull up closer to the doors)
- Pull all the way over to the curb
- Display your Car number card in the passenger side window
- Do NOT make U-turns. This is against the law and can be ticketed.
- Talk to your child about walking out quickly once they are called. Many students are walking very slowly down the halls despite being encouraged to walk quickly. :)
If your child does NOT have a number card or tag for their backpack, chances are that you have not filled out the transportation registration at https://forms.gle/smHdUzdc1Zy3ptF48. If you have filled out the form already and still have not received a number card or backpack tag, please send a dojo message to your child's teacher.
Remember...
All students with ORANGE tags/cards will exit the side doors to James Ave.
All students with GREEN tags/cards will exit the front doors to Grady Lee St.
Walkers will not be released until 3:10pm.
After 3:10 PM, ALL STUDENTS will exit Grady Lee.
You will receive a bright green card with your family number if you pick up on Grady Lee and a Bright Orange card for James Avenue. Please display this in your car window or bring it with you if walking to pick up your child. After 3:10, all children who have not been picked up will need to exit the front doors to Grady Lee.
When can my child go to school?
- They have had a fever within 24 hours
- They have had Covid-19 symptoms
- You believe your child might have been exposed to someone with Covid-19.
- Your child has been exposed to someone who has symptoms and is waiting for Covid-19 test results
Remember that you can always make arrangements to join class virtually by contacting your child's teacher and the main office at 817-814-7400.
