March Lifeline: Perseverance
Perseverance is sticking with things. It means being hardworking and finishing what is started, despite barriers and obstacles that arise. The pleasure received from completing tasks and projects is very important to those who are high in perseverance. Sometimes he or she must dig deep and muster the will to overcome thoughts of giving up. Perseverance involves organizing oneself to support activities (e.g., scheduling breaks and sticking to them, rewarding in small ways along the way), but when all else fails, this strength helps the person to barrel through until the project is done. This helps build further confidence for future successes and goal accomplishment. Perseverance involves the voluntary continuation of a goal-directed action despite the presence of challenges, difficulties, and discouragement. There are two vectors of perseverance. It requires both effort for a task and duration to keep the task up.
Dear Boone Meadow Families -
It's been a busy week filled with learning and experiences at the Meadow. We're delighted to share that our fourth graders embarked on an enriching excursion to Zionsville West Middle School, offering them a glimpse into their upcoming transition to middle school. They explored the campus, engaged in informative sessions, and gained valuable insights to ease their transition. In addition, our fourth graders showcased their hard work and dedication through their Hoosier Heritage Projects. This culminating project not only demonstrated their proficiency in research and writing but also honed their presentation skills, preparing them for future academic challenges. We're immensely proud of their achievements.
As we gear up for the bustling month of March, we're thrilled to share some exciting upcoming events and important dates with you:
- READ3 Testing for 3rd Graders: March 5th & 6th mark the days for our third graders' IREAD3 testing. We hope all students will feel rested and ready for these days of standardized testing. Let's rally behind them as they demonstrate their reading prowess!

What is BRAVERY?
- Being brave means confronting challenges, threats, or hardships. It means cherishing a goal or belief and taking action on it, regardless of its popularity. A key aspect is confronting fears instead of evading them.
Three forms of bravery exist, and an individual may exhibit one or a blend of these:
- Physical bravery (e.g., demonstrated by firefighters, police officers, soldiers)
- Psychological bravery (e.g., confronting painful aspects of one's self)
- Moral bravery (e.g., advocating for what is right, even if it goes against the prevailing opinion of a group)
