CHES Weekly Snapshot
9/9/19-9/13/19
From the Principal
We had a FABULOUS first week at CHES! There is nothing better than having students back at school! I'd also like to thank the Chesterfield Police Department who made sure every school in CCPS had an officer present each morning and afternoon to assist with traffic.
Boosterthon:
We are pumped to kick off our annual Boosterthon Fundraiser this Wednesday. Be on the look out for information to come home with your child on Wednesday. Parents are invited to the Outdoor Run on Friday, September 20. K-2 students will run from 8:15-9:15 and 3-5 will run from 9:30 - 10:30.
Back to School Picnic:
We hope to see you this Friday for our Back to School Picnic from 5-7 PM at the Woodlake Pavilion.
MAP Testing:
Students in grades 2-5 will begin taking their Fall MAP assessments this year! This is an instructional tool that allows the teachers to be able to specifically see by strand where each student is academically and provides information to guide instruction. For more information please visit this link: https://www.nwea.org/parent-toolkit/ .
Transportation:
Please make sure you double check your child's bus route/stop via E-Link or by clicking here. If your child's daily PM transportation changes, you will need to send a note to the teacher stating those changes. In the event you weren't able to send in a note, please be sure to call the office in addition to emailing the classroom teacher.
Student Absences:
New this year: Hi Clover Hill Families! In an effort to streamline our procedures and make this process easier for you, we will be using this form to report your child's absence from school. If you have any questions regarding this form, please contact the school office at (804) 739-6220.
Paperwork Galore:
As the school year ramps up, please make sure you have completed any necessary paperwork needed to ensure your child has a great year. These items may include:
- PTA Forms and Membership
- Emergency Cards
- Free and Reduced Lunch Application (Spanish Version)
- Student Health and Safety Forms and Information
- Standards for Student Conduct
Does your child have an amazing teacher? Is the office staff at your child’s school top notch? Consider submitting a nomination for the Superintendent’s Game Changers Award! Suggest your favorite staff member for this award by filling out this Game Changers Form.
Lunches:
We love when you join us for lunch, but the cafeteria will be closed to visitors the first two weeks of school as we will use this time to teach lunchroom expectations to our students.Classroom Snack:
We are asking parents to partner with us this year due to the number of student allergies. Please send in a snack that is “peanut & tree nut free" and is not "manufactured in a facility with peanuts & tree nuts." Classroom snack will occur at a designated time in each classroom. As an added precaution, we would also like to have all students wipe their hands and eating surface with a wipe at the completion of snack. Please consider donating wipes to your child's classroom. Thank you!
Please read through the important sections below.
Don't forget to reach out with any questions and/or concerns!
Thank you for your continued support, Mrs. Strollo and Mrs. Andersen
