Standardized Testing
Student Growth Assessments
These dates of testing will be Thursday, March 17; Friday, March 18; Tuesday, March 22; and Thursday, March 24. Please remind your child the importance of doing their best on these assessments so we can learn what they already know and what they need more practice with.
Standards of Learning (SOL) assessments
Monday, May 2: Reading, part 1
Tuesday, May 3: Reading, part 2
Monday, May 9: Math, part 1
Wednesday, May 11: Math, part 2
Please keep in mind that these days will result in a different schedule. The students will only take half of the SOL a day to help keep them fresh and focused. We will also have extended recess on these days to help with the wiggles.
To help prepare your child best for these testing days, please make sure they come well fed and with a strong understanding of how important it is for them to try their best on these exams. They are well-prepared for them and should knock them out of the park if they put forth their best effort.
Your support at home makes a HUGE difference for them, and we greatly appreciate all that you do to influence your child's education.

Washington D.C. field trip
We will be visiting national monuments, and museums. Please be sure your children are dressed in appropriate clothing for both indoor and outdoor weather and are wearing comfortable walking shoes.
We are able to take 10 chaperones on this trip! Unfortunately, we had a high interest of chaperones. Once all field trip forms have been collected, I will randomly select parents to come and notify you if you were chosen or not.

Due to my absence, the school will provide a licensed substitute teacher for this week. This means it is a substitute with years of teaching experience and is certified by the state of Virginia to be an elementary school teacher. Instruction, homework, and testing will continue as usual this week! Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns.
