Windermere Primary School
February 2017
From the Principal
This is one of my favorite months, not as much as October because that is my birthday, but definitely in the top 2 or 3 out of the 12 months! Share time with your family this month, read together and play together! It is also a critical time in learning for our students. Our kids make a lot of growth between now and Spring break, so keep up the effort and enthusiasm. Practice math facts! Ask questions to work on comprehension after reading.
We have had a lot of students sick over the past two weeks. Please talk with your kids about using our hand sanitizer around our building and washing hands well before lunch and at the restrooms. We are hoping we have a healthy finish to February!
We hope to see you at school some time soon!

ART. LOVE. BOOKS. WEEK
Kindness is our motto around Windermere Primary School and the week of 2/13-2/17 is ALL about it! We will have tons of fun events all week but I am hoping to see many of you here for our HEART-FILLED HALLWAYS on Tuesday, Feb. 14th. From 7:10-7:35am, we will line the hallway and share high-fives and encouraging words with all our students as they walk to class. It is an awesome experience and you don't want to miss it!

7 Habits of Happy Kids
Our students have been turning in Starsbucks earned for making good choices in class and around our school. Their "bucks" purchase different privileges around our building such as Office Helper, Mail Helper, Morning Greeter, etc. Today I met with a group of students who each earned 45 Starsbucks to be a Visionary Leader. We had an official agenda and conference room discussion to hear the suggestions such as half days every Friday, teaching assistants for all of our teachers, a new playground, and many more fabulous, visionary ideas! It was the best meeting I had ALL week!
