RSU 57 Community Newsletter

Message from the Superintendent
Dear RSU 57 Community,
As we move further into the school year, we continue to have new accomplishments from our amazing students to celebrate. Our students continue to excel, both academically and in extracurricular activities, demonstrating the strength and diversity of their talents.
Theatrical Triumphs
This past weekend, Massabesic High School Theater Troupe has made us proud by securing 3rd place at the Southern Maine Regional competition, earning the position of 1st alternate for the state competition. This recognition is a significant honor, reflecting the creativity, passion, and talents of our students and the faculty supporting them. Congratulations to the troupe on their success and for making us all very proud in the process.
Record Participation in Winter 2 Sports
We are thrilled to report that our Massabesic Middle School Winter 2 Sports Season has seen the highest participation rates in years. Our students have been actively engaging in swimming, cheering, wrestling, indoor track, and volleyball. Under the exemplary leadership of Athletic Director Danny Lawrence, the RSU 57 athletic department has been instrumental in fostering enthusiasm and participation in extracurricular activities. This surge in engagement aligns with our focus on student engagement, as outlined in the district's Strategic Plan. I am excited to see our student-athletes compete in their chosen activities.
Upcoming Spring Sports Season
Looking ahead, the excitement continues as we approach the start of the spring sports season at Massabesic High School. Our students will have the opportunity to participate in track & field, baseball, softball, tennis, and lacrosse. We encourage students and families interested in spring sports to visit rsu57mustangs.org for more information.
As we look forward to the upcoming events and activities, I extend my gratitude to our staff and the entire RSU 57 community for your unwavering support of the district's mission of “Preparing students for success in an ever-changing world.”
In closing, I wish everyone good health and send hopes for a continued warming trend in the weather. May the coming weeks bring joy, success, and warmth to all.
Thank you for your continued support of RSU 57.
Warmest Regards,
Dr. Stephen D. Marquis
