Congratulations, Mr. Geisler!
The Chicago Chess Foundation has honored Mr. Geisler with the Tom Larsen Award! The Tom Larsen award is given to coaches within CPS Academic Chess each year who show exceptional dedication to their chess team and its youth. We are extremely fortunate and proud to have such an amazing coach at Bateman. Congratulations on your incredible success! Cheers to you!
Quarter 3 Showcase
Wow! What an amazing turnout! We welcomed over 200 caregivers to our annual Quarter 3 Showcase! From Wax Museums to Animal Experts and MUCH more... we were simply in awe of the expertise our students showcased!
GOAL! A Teamwork Musical
Congratulations to our 2nd Graders for their incredible performance of GOAL: A Teamwork Musical! This was truly a team effort! Thank you to Ms. Soto, Mr. Colon, and all parents who were in attendance at their big show!
3rd Grade artists explored block printing and the work of Marcos Roman when creating these detailed masks.
Students experimented in printing patterned backgrounds using textured wooden blocks and carefully dipping them in paint. Students learned about the life and work of Marcos Roman, an artist who draws inspiration from his Puerto Rican culture and the Caribbean. Students used basic shapes to create their mask and traced and colored with sharpie markers.

Solar Eclipse - Monday, April 8th
On April 8th, 2024 at 2:07 pm, Chicago will be at the maximum point within the eclipse zone with 94% of the sun covered by the moon. We are planning an opportunity to allow students to observe the solar eclipse outside. Observing the eclipse provides opportunities to see science in action and connect future generations of explorers to the awe and wonder of Earth and Space Sciences.
As always, student safety is a top priority. Students will be provided International Organization for Standardization (ISO) approved eclipse glasses to observe the solar eclipse. A parent/guardian signature is required on this form (English/Spanish) by Friday, April 5th, for students to participate in the outdoor observation of the solar eclipse using the eclipse glasses.
