Teacher Spotlight
Mrs. Kernohan's favorite Bible verse is Nehemiah 8:10, " The joy of the Lord is my strength". She has three cats and they are all outdoors! Whenever Mrs. Kernohan is not here at CCA she enjoys camping, hiking, riding four wheelers, and being outside. Mrs. Kernohan is such a joy to be around, and we are very blessed to have her here at CCA!

Bring Your Bible to School-October 5th UPDATE
Bring Your Bible to School Day is an annual, student-led celebration that empowers Christian students to live out their faith. All it takes are two simple steps—bringing your Bible to school and sharing what God’s Word means to you!
CCA students brought 160 Bibles from home to school on October 5th. It was a blessing to see so many students & teachers willing to "be bold" by bringing their Bible to school and sharing God's Word. Yay God!
CCA Chapel
On Friday, October 6th, chapel was opened by the 8th grade class with pledges to the American flag, Christian flag & Bible. "You're a Grand Old Flag" was sung and a prayer was said. Mrs. Ritchie introduced our speaker, Pastor Anthony from Life Ministries Church of Clinton. Life Ministries is a church plant that started 4 years ago.
Pastor Anthony was wearing torn jeans and he asked us to think about Jesus being whipped and what he endured for us when we see people wearing ripped jeans.
Jude 24: Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy.
Has any of us ever been blamed or accused of something you didn’t do? Jesus was blamed for healing people, for glorifying God, for preaching and talking about God. Jesus is sinless.
Hebrews 7:26 says, "For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens."
We serve a sinless God. He is righteous. When we honor our father and mother and obey God, that brings joy to Him. The world in general thinks that Christians are perfect, uncool, sinless & boring…don’t let the world cast things on you when they don’t know your heart. We all do things that we know are wrong. Our Jesus is a forgiving God. How do we find out if we are blameless? God looks at your heart. You are created in the image of God. Don’t let the devil steal your joy; you want to remain blameless.
Pastor exposed his socks by taking off his shoes. He was wearing snowman socks! When we expose ourselves and ask Jesus to forgive us, He does, because Jesus loves us, and He knows our heart. Whatever we ask for in prayer, Jesus hears.
Jude 25: To the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. This verse means, always give thanks to God.
Thank you Pastor Anthony for sharing this message with us at CCA.
Fire Prevention
On October 4th, K4-5th grade students at Clinton Christian Academy participated in a fire prevention assembly that was given by the Clinton Fire Department. Students in 3rd-5th grades where specifically taught kitchen safety, while K4-2nd grades learned about basic fire safety.
Students were told they need to learn their address, just in case they need to call 911 in an emergency. They should also find out if their home has a smoke detector and where their safe meeting place is if there was ever a fire in their home. Chris Reno, Clinton Fire Fighter, selected Roman in the first group and Knox, Jules, Carter & Emsley in the second group to demonstrate stop, drop, and roll for students in attendance. If our clothes catch on fire you need to stop, drop and roll; make sure to cover your face as well to protect your airway.
Smoke detectors can smell smoke. Every house should have smoke detectors, and they should be placed high on the wall in your home because smoke rises. Your smoke detector should be loud enough to wake you up, so make sure to change the batteries twice a year, and the expiration date on the back side. A smoke detector only lasts 10 years! If you don't have a smoke detector, contact the Clinton Fire Department to get one for free.
Third through fifth grade students met Chef Fry all the way from Oceanside, CA. Chef demonstrated how to make "hyper roasted duck." This of course was a demonstration of what not to do because Chef's oven caught fire! Students were told if this happens in their home while cooking to get out of their house, call 911 and do not open the oven door.
Pre-school through second grade students were showed what to do if they are in bed and their smoke detector goes off. Sleepy Sammy demonstrated how to check their bedroom door for heat, crawl close to the floor, open their window and yell for help if their bedroom is on an upper level.
To end the presentation, we were shown how to dress the firefighter. Jack Wright, a CCA graduate and volunteer firefighter, showed students how firefighters put on their gear. A big thank you to James Hinkle, Jack Wright, Matt Kramm, and Chris Reno from the Clinton Fire Department for preparing the fire prevention program and demonstrating fire safety to our CCA students. –Kennedy Vaughn
