What is the digestive sytem?
The digestive system Is a system that helps you eat, but when you smell food the digestive system starts work. If you want to know more, keep reading!
The esophagus
The esophagus is the tube that goes down your throat. The esophagus pushes the food to the stomach. The esophagus is sometimes called gullet. The food doesn't just drop to the stomach, the muscle push the food it.
The stomach
The stomach is roughly a j shaped and located in the upper left side of your body. The adults stomach is 25 centimetres long and easily expand. The stomach gets food from the esophagus, then breaks down the food and the continues.
The small intestine
The small intestine is a small tube that is running from the stomach to the anus. The small intestine is about one foot long. the small intestine is the longest organ in the digestive. The small intestine is 5 metres long!
The large intestine
The large intestine is attached to the small in intestine, the large intestine looks fatter and shorter than the small intestine. The large intestine takes care of absorbing water that is left in the food.
