Need to Know
June Exam Schedule can be found here. Ms. Montgomery visited classrooms to review the June Exam Protocol for Students.
Exams will be written in the Macaulay gymnasium or in an accommodation room. Lab exams will be written in the science labs. Morning exams begin promptly at 9:00 AM and afternoon exams begin promptly at 1:00 PM. Students must be punctual, and those arriving late will be refused entry into the exam room until they have met with Mr. Banerjee. Students who are late will not be allowed to make up the lost time. Students must be dressed in their Selwyn House uniform (summer uniform is acceptable). Lunch is not served for students during exams. Selwyn House Library Books: All library books are due back by tomorrow, Friday, June 2. After this date, we will email parents about overdue books. Books that are not returned by June 16 will be billed.
Lost and Found! The lost and found items from all around the school are now on display in the hallway near the front entrance of the Lucas Building, ready to be picked up. Photos of some of the items can be found HERE. Be sure to check if anything belongs to your family so you or your son can pick them up as soon as possible.
Volunteer Appreciation Tea & Coffee: Parent Volunteers, we hope you will join us on Tuesday, June 6 from 8:00 - 9:15 AM in the Guzzo Family Playground (under the tent) where we will celebrate you and your contributions to the Selwyn House community.
Drive Thru Gryphon Sale Donations: For next Wednesday, June 7 from 7:00 - 8:30 AM, Gryphon Sale volunteers will be in front of the school to gather gently-used uniform items you may have.
Middle and Senior School Athletic Celebration 2023: On May 25, Selwyn House hosted the annual Middle and Senior Athletic Celebration. Read more.
International History Bee & Bowl 2023: On April 22, students from Selwyn House School competed in their first Regional History Bowl at Glebe Collegiate Institute in Ottawa. Read more.

Looking for ways to maximize your summer break and advance your post-secondary preparation? Join me on Zoom for an overview of what can be done over the summer to research academic programs, build a resume/activity list, and connect with different institutions. The session is open to parents, guardians and students (and since it is exam time, parents: you are more than welcome to attend and then pass along the information).
INDIVIDUAL MEETINGS
Meet with your advisor to discuss your academic progress and preparation for post-secondary studies! You can go ahead and book a meeting here if you like and select a date/time that works best for you. If you would like to schedule a meeting at a different time, arrange a phone call or book a virtual session, Email Ms. Peterman with your preferred date/time.

Student Leadership & Experiential Education
House T-Shirt Day - Friday, June 2: All Senior School students are invited to wear their house t-shirt with casual pants or shorts for the final day of class on Friday, June 2. We will be awarding the House Cup during our final assembly and would love the boys to be in house colours for the yearbook photos.
Contactivity - End-of-year Celebration: To celebrate another successful year of programming, we will be hosting our annual Contactivity Tea. On June 5 at 3:00 PM, members from the Contactivity Centre and Selwyn House students who participated in programming this year are invited to join us under the tent in the Guzzo Yard to celebrate our amazing partnership. Contactivity - Pickleball this summer: The Contactivity Centre is looking for two Selwyn House students to help them run pickleball for seniors this summer! Pickleball will take place at Selwyn House on Tuesdays from 1:30-3:00 PM July 4 - August 15. This is a great opportunity to volunteer, connect with seniors, and have fun playing pickleball! If you are interested, please email Ms. Schwartz.
Leadership Development Opportunity: Canadian Student Leadership Conference (CSLC) (Are you looking for an opportunity to expand your leadership skills or meet other student leaders from across Canada? Then this might be the opportunity for you! Current Grade 9 and 10 students are invited to apply to attend the Canadian Student Leadership Conference (CSLC), which will take place October 10-14 in Saint John, New Brunswick. If you are interested, please read this INFORMATION LETTER and complete the application form by June 5 at 3:00 PM.

Echoes of a Proud Nation Pow Wow in Kahnawake - July 8 - 9:
Families and staff are encouraged to attend this summer’s Pow Wow in Kahnawake. As part of our commitment to learn more about Indigenous history and culture, this is a great opportunity to experience an event that is open to all! If you would like to join our SHS group, we will be meeting Wahiakatste Diome-Deer on Saturday, July 8 at 10 AM in the picnic table area by the food tents. The Grand Entry (dancing and singing) begins at 1:00 PM, however, you can expect a long line of cars at the gate if you wait to come later in the day. Please RSVP here if you are interested in joining us so we can communicate further details closer to the event.
