Glenealy School Newsletter

Message from Chris
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
I hope you all had a wonderful half term break and enjoyed the spectacular weather we have been experiencing.
Upon our return the children have had a great time celebrating our Mini-Book Week! Children have been enjoying their reading challenges, talking about their favourite books and meeting authors, albeit virtually. The children are buzzing with excitement around the school, which has been great to see.
Glenealy Virtual Book Week Digital Gallery
Our children were clearly busy during the half term holiday at home - taking part in our Book Week themed digital gallery to get it up and running - and ready to receive visitors.
Children were asked to create a piece of art that inspires them. As we were unable to hold a Book Parade this year I hope parents can enjoy seeing the wonderful artwork created by our children in the gallery below. Thank you to the PTA for organising this wonderful gallery experience.

Glenealy Book Week Art Exhibition 2020
Thank you to all parents who supported this and sent in the art work. If your child hasn’t submitted a piece of artwork yet - it’s not too late.
If you still wish to submit a piece of artwork you can by following this checklist:
Create a piece of Art inspired by a book or a story character (painting, drawing or sculpture!)
Create a “Title” for the piece of art (eg. “Harry Potter in Action”)
Optional - provide a short description of the piece of art - 3/4 sentences about why this book inspires you!
Take a good quality picture of the piece of art (not with your child in). Try to make sure the photo is well lit.
Send the piece of art via email with the name and class, title and short ‘blurb’ description to: pta@glenealy.net
Temperature Checks and Masks - Reminder
Thank you to parents for using the ESF App to add your child’s temperature each morning - it is an EDB requirement for children to attend school. The system is working well and I want to thank you all again for your support with this. Please remember to download the App on multiple family members’ devices so you can keep track of school information.
Please also remember to send children to school with a spare mask in their bag. Accidents happen, masks get dropped (or wet!) and it’s sometimes more comfortable for children to change their mask after running around at break time.
Best regards,
Chris
